Purr 'n' Fur, a site for cat lovers

Purr 'n' Fur
is all about cats

There are numerous cat websites, but
we think cat lovers will agree there's
no such thing as too many cats!

Now online for twelve years, Purr 'n' Fur continues to grow,
with a wide selection of different sections and articles for the enjoyment of cat lovers.
The site is usually added to three times a year, in the UK's spring, summer/autumn
and over the winter, with new material, updates and amendments.

After the hiatus of the last year or so we're pleased that we're now able to
resume work on our site, so over the coming months we'll be aiming
to bring a number of our pages up to date. The quantity of information on the internet
about unusual cats and remarkable journeys and recoveries from misfortune
has increased enormously over the past couple of years,
and we won't be attempting to report or duplicate all of that on Purr 'n' Fur,
but we do plan to provide links, in our Mini-Fragments section,
to some of the more outstanding tales.
Otherwise we'll be concentrating on expanding our historical sections
on cats in wartime, and contemporary working cats
such as on the railways, in hotels, libraries, in distilleries and the like.
Do take a look also at our Facebook page,
which is usually added to several times a week
with feline pictures and information.

Smiling Cats bar

Our featured feline: the beautiful marmalade character taking pride of place here on our home page was a Dutch kitten called Dabbe, belonging to colleagues who worked at the same college as I was in eastern Holland. Trust a cat to find the sunniest spot! — and his stripes contrasted beautifully with the duvet he was sitting on (Dec 1989).
